House of Prayer Lutheran Church partnered with the Aliquippa Elementary School to host students for virtual learning Monday – Thursday while learning is remote. Through a generous grant from our very own Dr. Ken Circa, the school was able to transform the fellowship hall into a clean, safe and supportive environment for 16 students a day. Food, safety, hygiene, and school supplies and equipment were purchased to create a safe environment for the students and the adult monitors on-premises.
“These kids need this support, and I can tell that it was appreciated by all of them. They all happily ate their breakfasts and lunches, which was alone I think a big help to their ability to learn. Some had trouble logging on, others didn’t have the proper equipment, others are very very far behind…. but we are going to do everything we can to help them succeed. Thank you, Dr. Ken, for making this possible, and thank you to the Aliquippa School District for thinking outside of the box for the welfare of our students! ” – Denise Drabeck
