    Alex's Lemonade Stand

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) is a national childhood cancer foundation dedicated to raising funds for research into new treatments and cures for all children battling cancer. Every year, an estimated 250,000+ new cases of cancer affect children under the age of 20 worldwide. Despite this, childhood cancer research is vastly and consistently underfunded. This is why it is so important to support and help fund research for children with cancer and that is why Philly Dentistry supported the Lemon Society Speakeasy in Philadelphia.

    SHARE food program 2

Share first opened in 1986, part of a national network of Shares dedicated to expanding community access to wholesome, affordable food. Since that time, Share has evolved into a vibrant, high-impact organization, recognized for their strong leadership role in reducing regional hunger and expanding access to nutritious, affordable food. Last year, Share brought 27 million pounds of emergency food relief to low-income Philadelphia residents facing hunger. Each day, Share manages complex food distribution operations, to bring a steady, reliable stream of food relief to more than 505 volunteer-led food cupboards.

    Undy Run 3

The National Undy RunWalk is not just an opportunity to run or walk in your underwear. It is a family-friendly undy-themed RunWalk created by the Colorectal Cancer Alliance, with the goal to provide support for patients and families, caregivers, and survivors; to raise awareness of preventive measures; and inspire efforts to fund critical research. Funds raised through the Undy RunWalk support national prevention, research, and patient support initiatives at the Colorectal Cancer Alliance. The Undy RunWalk also supports the Blue Hope Partnership Program by providing funding to local organizations that are making strides to end colorectal cancer in our lifetime.

    staff at MANNA 2017

Recently, some of our staff volunteered at the MANNA Organization which helps deliver nourishing, healthy meals to those battling life-threatening illnesses. When you first arrive at MANNA you are welcomed right away with a smile and taken back to watch an introduction video about the history and mission of MANNA. After watching the video, you then go to the kitchen where the MANNA staff explains to your group who is responsible for each specific duty. The duties include, each person placing a different food into their designated space on the plate and then moving it along the line to the next person to place more food, and so on, until it is sealed shut and stacked to be transported to the trucks to be delivered to patients. Our team at Philly Dentistry helped to make over a thousand meals for MANNA. Each year MANNA has over 4,200 volunteers who donate over 40,000 hours to help those in need and get the nourishment they deserve.

hearts for herosThe Barkann Family Healing Hearts Foundation is setting out to accomplish exactly what it’s name implies—to help heal the hearts of families across the Delaware Valley whose hearts have been broken by the sudden illness or sudden loss of life of a loved one.

While we recognize that we cannot provide a cure or change a tragic outcome, what we know we can do is provide support and help to ease the immediate financial burden that these tragic situations leave in their wake. Our financial support can allow a parent to skip work to stay at the hospital with their child, or a spouse who has lost their partner to stay home with their children to begin the healing process.
